driving across the Texas panhandle . 4 am . AM radio . christians saying
"you don't have to wait to die to start living your spiritual life. you can do it right here and now. if you don't believe in angels, keep a journal for thirty days and an angel will reach out to you. guaranteed" -- i thought that was funny . but the idea of
you don't have to wait to die ... that stuck
a conversation about the origin of the moon. it was once a part of planet earth and it broke off and flew into our orbit.
the song is a love song from the perspective of earth to the moon.
and then i later found this from Sogyal Rinpoche in the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - “We do not have to wait for the painful death of someone close to us or the shock of terminal illness ... We can make every moment an opportunity to change and prepare – wholeheartedly, precisely, and with peace of mind – for death and eternity”
Lost a piece of myself in it’s place I found the ocean
broke off into orbit caught up in the space of motion
I know that I could get it back if the spell were broken
The three little magic words never have been spoken
You can start living now, you don’t have to wait to die
You can start living now, you don’t have to wait to see
The day they bombed the moon I felt it once was a part of me
Still I get to see you almost every single day
No matter how close you get you’re still so far away
The way that you affect me you been pulling at my tides
Still I can’t resist the way you reflect the light
You can start living now, you don’t have to wait to die
You can start living now, you don’t have to wait to see
The day they bombed the moon I felt it once was a part of me
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ohh
You don’t have to wait to die You don’t have to wait to die
